Nestled among the skyscrapers in downtown Vancouver, B.C. lies the Metropolitan Hotel. Its’ luxury boutique style is echoed throughout their contemporary lobby with Asian accents. They typically welcome business travelers from all over the world. But, with most hotels in Vancouver starting at $400+ (USD) a night, and the Metropolitan starting at $200+ (USD), it’s a great fit for a more budget minded traveler too! Check pricing HERE.

Location:

The Metropolitan Hotel is in downtown Vancouver. The address is:

645 Howe St,

Vancouver, BC V6C 2Y9, Canada

It lies just five blocks south of the waterfront, making for an easy 10 minute walk to everything downtown Vancouver has to offer. Whether you’re staying overnight before or after a cruise, or you’re there to see the sites, you’ll be pleased with the prime location of this hotel!

If you’re looking to venture out farther, this hotel is close to bus stops, the train and hop on/hop off bus routes. Unfortunately, the Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver does not have an airport shuttle. But, if you drove or rented a car, you’re in luck! This hotel is one of the few places that will valet park your car- for FREE!

The Room:

Our room was located on the 12th floor and was a “double twin” room. The elevators were showing their age a bit as we creaked our way up floor by floor. The elevators are right in the middle of the building so it’s not a long walk to your room no matter where it is.

Their website advertises the rooms as elegant with European down duvets and Italian linens. Our room did not disappoint- it was beautiful! We had a great little view of downtown, a mini bar, tons of storage and a spacious bathroom with a soaker tub!

Despite the hotel being an older building, our room was well cared for and updated throughout. We only stayed one night but this would be a fantastic option for anyone staying in town on business or for an extended stay. The free Wi-Fi was okay but we did have dead spots in our room.

Amenities:

This hotel has a heated indoor pool that is open year round. You’ll also find an award winning restaurant, bar, fitness center complete with steam room and squash court, and of course, a business center. The restaurant offers some wonderful cuisine options night or day but breakfast is not included in your stay so prepare to pay for this premium. If you venture out and walk towards the waterfront you’ll find plenty of places to eat breakfast near Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver. Room service is available 24 hours though, so when everything else is shut down, you can still get a decent meal!

Their concierge was extremely helpful in helping you plan your day of travels and gave us a few coupons for a few dollars off the hop on/hop off bus. They were quick to point out their favorite spots, what not to miss and what was okay to skip. They advertise their complimentary downtown limo service but it is only available on the weekdays and we were there on the weekend so we missed out!

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with our room and its location. I felt safe venturing out at night and having a doorman welcome me upon my return was a comforting sight. Next time you find yourself in the gorgeous city of Vancouver, I highly recommend checking out the Metropolitan Hotel!
